David Paulino, Relief Pitcher

David Paulino, relief pitcher, was first signed by the Detroit Tigers in September, 2010. Three years later, on September 13, 2013, he was traded to the Houston Astros. He pitched in the minor leagues from 2011 through most of 2016, primarily as a starting pitcher. He had Tommy John surgery in 2013 and he missed the entire 2014 season.

Paulino pitched in one game as a starter and two games in relief with the Astros in 2016. He had a 5.14 ERA in 7.0 innings. He also pitched 90.0 innings in 20 games in the minors.

Paulino pitched as a starter with the Astros in 6 games in 2017. He finished the season with 2 wins and no losses, 34 strikeouts to 7 walks, and a 6.52 ERA in 29.0 innings. He didn't pitch in the postseason.

The Astros traded Paulino to the Toronto Blue Jays on July 30, 2018. He spent time on the DL and in the minors in 2018. In 6.2 innings in 7 games with the Blue Jays, he had a 1.35 ERA.

The Blue Jays released Paulino on August 10, 2019. He spent the 2019 season on the DL and in the minors.

Paulino played in the Dominican Winter League in 2019 and 2020.

Paulino signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on January 18, 2021. He played in just one game with the Phillies in 2021. He spent most of the time in the minors, pitching 81.1 innings in 31 games.

Paulino became a free agent on November 7, 2021.
