Dixon Machado, infielder for the Houston Astros, was signed by the Detroit Tigers in July, 2008. He played in the Tigers' minor league system from 2009 through 2014.

Machado spent most of the 2015 and 2016 seasons in the minor leagues. He played in 24 games with the Tigers in 2015 and he had 16 hits. In 2016, he had one hit in 8 games with them.

Machado played in 73 games with the Tigers in 2017. He finished the season with 43 hits and a .259 batting average. Defensively, he played 27 games at second base, 5 games at third base, and 32 games at shortstop.
