Dominic Leone, relief pitcher for the New York Mets, played at Clemson University before being drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 2012. He played in the Mariners' minor league system in 2012 and 2013.

In 2014, Leone pitched only in the major leagues, playing in 57 games with the Mariners. He finished the season with 8 wins to 2 losses, 70 strikeouts to 25 walks, and a 2.17 ERA in 66.1 innings.

Leone was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on June 3, 2015. He finished the season with an 8.40 ERA in 10 games with the Mariners and 3 games with the Diamondbacks. He spent time on the DL, as well as pitching in 27 games in the minors.

In 2016, Leone split his time between the Diamondbacks and the minors. He had a 6.33 ERA, no wins and one loss, and 23 strikeouts to 12 walks in 27.0 innings in 25 games with the Diamondbacks. He also pitched 35.0 innings in 33 games in the minors.

Leone was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals on January 19, 2018. He spent time on the DL in 2018 with right upper arm irritation. In 30 games with the Cardinals, he had 1 win and 2 losses and a 4.50 ERA in 24.0 innings.

Leone finished the 2019 season with 1 win and no losses, 1 save, 46 strikeouts to 22 walks, and a 5.53 ERA in 40.2 innings in 40 games. He also pitched 31.2 innings in 23 games in the minors. He didn't pitch in the postseason.

The Cardinals released Leone on November 25, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians on January 23, 2020. He pitched just 9.2 innings in 12 games in 2020, and he had an ERA of 8.38.

Leone elected free agency on October 14, 2020. He signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants on December 9, 2020. He finished the 2021 season with 4 wins and 5 losses, 2 saves, 50 strikeouts to 22 walks, and a 1.51 ERA in 53.2 innings in 57 games. In the postseason, he gave up 4 hits and 3 runs in 1.2 innings in 2 games.

The Giants released Leone on September 10, 2022. He signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on February 24, 2023, and he was released on May 2nd. He signed with the Mets on May 4th.
