Jairo Diaz, relief pitcher, first signed with the Los Angeles Angels in August, 2007. He pitched in the Angels' minor league system from 2010 through most of 2014, pitching just 5.2 innings in 5 games with the Angels in 2014.

Diaz was traded to the Colorado Rockies on December 11, 2014. He pitched in 21 games with the Rockies in 2015 and he had a 2.37 ERA in 19.0 innings. He also pitched in 47 games in the minors.

Diaz had Tommy John surgery in 2016 and he missed the entire season.

Diaz spent most of the 2017 season in the minors, pitching just 5.0 innings in 4 games with the Rockies.

The Rockies released Diaz on June 12, 2018. He played only in the minors in 2018.

Diaz became a free agent on November 2, 2018. He re-signed with the Rockies on December 20th. He finished the 2019 season with 6 wins and 4 losses, 5 saves, 91 strikeouts to 33 walks, and a 4.53 ERA in 57.2 innings in 56 games.

Diaz pitched in 24 games in 2020. He finished the season with 1 win and 2 losses, 4 saves, and a 7.65 ERA in 20.0 innings.

Diaz spent the 2021 season on the IL and in the minors.

Diaz became a free agent on October 5, 2021. He signed with a team in the independent Atlantic League on June 7, 2022, and he was released on July 19th.
