Jarlin Garcia, pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, didn't start playing baseball until he was 15 years old. Prior to that time, he played soccer. He signed with the Miami Marlins in May, 2011.

Garcia pitched primarily as a starting pitcher in the Marlins' minor league system from 2011 through 2016. He had 23 wins and 27 losses in 479.2 innings in 108 games (89 games as a starting pitcher). He struck out 405 batters and walked 117. He gave up 472 hits, 38 of which were home runs, and 250 runs (198 earned runs).

In 2017, Garcia pitched in 68 games with the Marlins. He finished the season with 1 win and 2 losses, 42 strikeouts to 17 walks, and a 4.73 ERA in 53.1 innings.

Garcia spent time on the DL in 2018 with a right ankle contusion. In 29 games with the Marlins, he had 3 wins and 3 losses, 40 strikeouts to 28 walks, and a 4.91 ERA in 66.0 innings.

Garcia finished the 2019 season with 4 wins and 2 losses, 39 strikeouts to 16 walks, and a 3.02 ERA in 50.2 innings in 53 games.

The Giants claimed Garcia off waivers on February 10, 2020. He pitched in 19 games in 2020, and he finished the season with 2 wins and 1 loss and a 0.49 ERA in 18.1 innings.

Garcia spent time on the IL in 2021 with a groin strain. He finished the season with 6 wins and 3 losses, 68 strikeouts to 18 walks, and a 2.62 ERA in 68.2 innings in 58 games. In the postseason, he gave up 2 hits, 1 home run, and 2 runs in 1.1 innings in 2 games.
