Juan Minaya, relief pitcher, first signed with the Houston Astros in September, 2008. He pitched in the Astros' minor league system from 2009 through 2015. He was a starting pitcher in his first two seasons and then transitioned to a relief pitcher in 2011.

The Chicago White Sox claimed Minaya off waivers on June 22, 2016. He pitched in 11 games with the White Sox in 2016 and he had a 4.35 ERA in 10.1 innings. He spent the rest of the season in the minors.

Minaya pitched in 40 games with the White Sox in 2017. He finished the season with 3 wins and 2 losses, 9 saves, 51 strikeouts to 20 walks, and a 4.53 ERA in 43.2 innings.

Minaya finished the 2018 season with 2 wins and 2 losses, 1 save, 58 strikeouts to 29 walks, and a 3.28 ERA in 46.2 innings in 52 games. He also pitched in 19 games in the minors.

Minaya's time was split between the majors and minors in 2019. In 22 games with the White Sox, he had no wins and no losses, 27 strikeouts to 12 walks, and a 3.90 ERA in 27.2 innings.

Minaya became a free agent on September 30, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins on January 28, 2020. He played only in the Dominican Winter League in 2020.

Minaya finished the 2021 season with 2 wins and 1 loss, 43 strikeouts to 20 walks, and a 2.48 ERA in 40.0 innings in 29 games. After the season ended, he played in the Dominican Winter League and the Caribbean Series.

Minaya became a free agent on November 30, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Twins on March 13, 2022. He became a free agent again on October 6, 2022.
