Justin Grimm, relief pitcher, was first drafted in 2007 by the Boston Red Sox but he opted instead for the University of Georgia. Three years later, he was drafted by and signed with the Texas Rangers. He pitched as a starting pitcher in the Rangers' minor league system in 2011 and 2012.

Grimm pitched in five games with the Rangers in 2012. He had a 9.00 ERA in 14.0 innings. He spent the rest of the season in the minors.

Grimm was traded to the Chicago Cubs on July 22, 2013. He finished the season with a 5.97 ERA, 7 wins to 9 losses, and 76 strikeouts to 34 walks in 17 games as a starter with the Rangers and 10 games as a reliever with the Cubs.

In 2014, Grimm pitched in a career high 73 games. He finished the season with a 3.78 ERA in 69.0 games. The following season, he had a career low ERA of 1.99 in 62 games.

Grimm had a 4.10 ERA in 68 games with the Cubs in 2016. He finished the season with 2 wins and 1 loss and 65 strikeouts to 23 walks in 52.2 innnings. In the postseason, he pitched 4.1 innings in 6 games and he gave up 6 hits and 6 runs. He struck out 3 batters and walked 1 and he had a 12.46 ERA.

Grimm finished the 2017 season with 1 win and 2 losses, 1 save, 59 strikeouts to 27 walks, and a 5.53 ERA in 55.1 innings in 50 games. He didn't pitch in the postseason.

The Cubs released Grimm on March 15, 2018. He signed with the Kansas City Royals three days later. He was released by the Royals on July 7, 2018. Almost two weeks later, on July 19th, he signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners. He spent time on the DL and in the minors in 2018. He pitched 17.1 innings in 16 games with the Royals and 5 games with the Mariners, and he had a 10.38 ERA.

Grimm became a free agent on October 31, 2018. He signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians on January 3, 2019, and he was released on March 22nd. He signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 24th. He was traded to the Cincinnati Reds on July 17th. He played only in the minors in 2019.

Grimm became a free agent on November 4, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers on December 4th. He was released on August 31, 2020. He pitched just 4.2 innings in 4 games in 2020, and he had an ERA of 17.36.

Grimm signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners on May 7, 2021. He played only in the minors in 2021.

Grimm became a free agent on November 7, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Oakland Athletics on March 11, 2022. He was released on May 31st.
