Luis Garcia, relief pitcher for the San Diego Padres, first signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in January, 2004. He pitched in the Dodgers' minor league system from 2006 through 2008. He was traded to the Washington Nationals on August 31, 2009, and he continued to play in the minors.

Garcia became a free agent on November 6, 2010. No teams signed him and he didn't play at all in 2011 and 2012.

The Philadelphia Phillies signed Garcia to a minor league contract on March 25, 2013. He split his time in 2013 between the majors and the minors. In 24 games with the Phillies, he had a 3.73 ERA in 31.1 innings. The following season, he pitched in just 13 games with the Phillies. The rest of the time he was on the DL with a forearm strain and in the minors.
