Patrick Kivlehan, outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds, played football at Rutgers University for four years before switching to baseball. In 2012, he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners. He played in the Mariners' minor league system from 2012 through 2015.

Kivlehan was traded to the Texas Rangers on December 2, 2015. The Rangers designated him for assignment on May 23, 2016, and then traded him back to the Mariners on May 29th. He played only in the minor leagues for the Mariners and the Rangers in 2016.

The Mariners designated Kivlehan for assignment on August 1, 2016. Three days later, the San Diego Padres claimed him off waivers. After playing in just five games with the Padres, they designated him for assignment on September 21st. The Reds claimed him off waivers on September 28th. He then played in three games with the Reds.
