Rob Segedin was first drafted by the New York Yankees in 2010. He played in the Yankees' minor league system from 2010 through 2015.

The Yankees traded Segedin to the Los Angeles Dodgers on January 12, 2016. He joined the Dodgers for 40 games in 2016. He finished the season with 17 hits, 12 RBIs, and a .233 batting average. In his first major league game on August 7th, he had four RBIs. He hit his first major league home run on August 22nd. Defensively, he played 9 games at first base, 6 games at third base, 7 games in left field, and 7 games in right field. He also played in 103 games in the minors.

Segedin spent most of the 2017 season on the DL and in the minors. He played in just 13 games with the Dodgers.

Segedin spent the 2018 season on the DL and in the minors. He retired after the season ended.
