Sal Romano, retired pitcher, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 2011. He was a starting pitcher in the Reds' minor league system from 2012 through 2016.

As a minor league starting pitcher from 2012 through 2016, Romano had a 4.38 ERA in 121 games. He pitched 616.1 innings and he had 32 wins and 48 losses. He struck out 501 batters and walked 201. He gave up 672 hits, 36 of them home runs, and 360 runs (300 earned runs).

Romano pitched in 16 games as a starter with the Reds in 2017. He finished the season with 5 wins and 8 losses, 73 strikeouts to 37 walks, and a 4.45 ERA in 87.0 innings.

Romano pitched in 39 games in 2018. He had 8 wins and 11 losses, 105 strikeouts to 53 walks, and a 5.31 ERA in 145.2 innings.

Romano spent most of the 2019 season in the minors, pitching just 16.1 innings in 12 games with the Reds. He had an ERA of 7.71.

Romano pitched just 1.1 innings in 2 games in 2020.

The Reds designated Romano for assignment on May 14, 2021, and three days later, he opted for free agency. He signed a minor league contract with the New York Yankees on July 18th. The Milwaukee Brewers claimed him off waivers on August 3rd. He again elected free agency on August 13th, and the next day, he rejoined the Yankees on a new minor league contract. The Yankees released him on September 20th. He finished the 2021 season with a 6.12 ERA in 25.0 innings in 14 games with the Reds, 1 game with the Brewers, and 4 games with the Yankees. He also pitched 30.1 innings in 25 games in the minors.

Romano signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners on March 22, 2022. He retired on April 4th.
