Taylor Rogers, relief pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, was first drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2009 but he opted instead to attend the University of Kentucky. Three years later, he signed with the Minnesota Twins. He pitched as both a starting pitcher and a relief pitcher in the Twins' minor league system in 2012. He was primarily a starting pitcher from 2013 through 2015.

Rogers pitched in 57 games as a relief pitcher with the Twins in 2016. He finished the season with 3 wins and 1 loss, 64 strikeouts to 16 walks, and a 3.33 ERA in 61.1 innings.
