T.J. Rivera, infielder, was signed by the New York Mets in June, 2011. He played in their minor league system from 2011 through 2015.

Rivera played in 33 games with the Mets in 2016. He hit his first major league home run on September 13th. He finished the season with 35 hits, 16 RBIs, 17 strikeouts to 3 walks, and a .333 batting average. Defensively, he played 1 game at first base, 26 games at second base, and 9 games at third base and he made 56 assists, 13 double plays, 36 putouts, and 3 errors. He also played in 105 games in the minors during the regular season. In the postseason Wild Card game with the Mets, he had 1 double in 4 at-bats.

Rivera finished the 2017 season with 62 hits, 13 doubles, 27 RBIs, 32 strikeouts to 9 walks, and a .290 batting average in 73 games with the Mets. Defensively, he played 20 games at first base, 12 games at second base, 28 games at third base, and 3 games in left field.

Rivera had Tommy John surgery on February 18, 2018. He played in just one game in the minors in 2018.

The Mets released Rivera on March 9, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on August 4th. He spent the 2019 season in the minors.

Rivera became a free agent on November 4, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on December 13, 2019. He was released on May 29, 2020. He played in the Puerto Rican Winter League in 2020.

Rivera started the 2021 season in the independent Atlantic League. He was acquired by the Pittsburgh Pirates on May 19th. He was traded to the Phillies on August 7th. He played in the minors and in the Puerto Rican Winter League in 2021.

Rivera became a free agent on November 7, 2021.
