Tony Barnette, relief pitcher, was first drafted in 2006 by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He pitched in the Diamondbacks' minor league system from 2006 through 2009.
The Diamondbacks released Barnette on January 5, 2010. He played in Japan from 2010 through 2015.
The Texas Rangers signed Barnette on December 15, 2015. He pitched in 53 games with them in 2016. He finished the season with 7 wins and 3 losses, 49 strikeouts to 16 walks, and a 2.09 ERA in 60.1 innings. In the postseason, he pitched 4.0 innings in 3 games and he gave up 3 hits and no runs.
