Tony Kemp, outfielder for the Oakland Athletics, was a top player at Vanderbilt University. In 2013, he was named the Southeastern Conference Baseball Player of the Year.

Kemp was drafted by the Houston Astros in 2013. He played in their minor league system from 2013 through 2015.

Kemp played in 59 games with the Astros in 2016. He finished the season with 26 hits, 27 strikeouts to 14 walks, and a .217 batting average. Defensively, as a left fielder in 37 games, he made 33 putouts and 1 error. He also played in 69 games in the minors.

Kemp spent most of the 2017 season in the minors, playing in just 17 games with the Astros.
