Vicente Campos, relief pitcher, was first signed by the Seattle Mariners in January, 2009. Three years later, he was traded to the New York Yankees in January, 2012. He pitched in the minor leagues as a starting pitcher from 2009 through most of 2016. He had Tommy John surgery in 2014 and missed the entire season.
Campos was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 31, 2016. He spent most of the 2016 season in the minors, pitching just 5.2 innings in one game with the Diamondbacks.
The Los Angeles Angels claimed Campos off waivers on November 4, 2016. He spent the 2017 season in the minors.
After 12 games in the minors in 2018, the Angels released Campos.
Campos signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates on January 30, 2019. After playing only in the minors for Pittsburgh, he was released on June 21, 2019. He then signed with a Mexican League team and played with them until he was released on July 24th.
Campos played in the Venezuelan Winter League in 2020 and 2021. He also played in the Caribbean Series in 2021.
Personal Life
Campos is a cousin of Alcides Escobar of the Chicago White Sox.
