Bryan Price, Former Manager, Cincinnati Reds

Date of Birth: 6/22/1962
Birthplace: San Francisco, California
College: University of California at Berkeley

Bryan Price was hired as the manager of the Cincinnati Reds on October 21, 2013. Although Price never managed in the major or minor leagues, the Reds gave him a three-year contract.

Prior to being hired as the Reds manager, Price was the team's pitching coach for four seasons. Price pitched in college (UC Berkeley) and in the minor leagues (with Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners) but never in the major leagues. He started his major league career as a pitching coach in 2000, when he was hired by the Mariners. After coaching for Seattle for seven years, and helping the team lead the American League in ERA, Price moved to the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was the pitching coach for Arizona until he resigned in 2009. The following season, he started his coaching career with the Reds.

In his first year as a major league manager, Price led the Reds to a 76-86 record in 2014. They finished in fourth place in the National League Central division. They had a worse season in 2015, finishing in fifth place in the division with a 64-98 record. They fared only slightly better in 2016, when they finished with a 68-94 record. However, they were still in last place in the NL Central division. The Reds' record in 2017 was exactly the same as it was in 2016.

Price was fired by the Reds on April 19, 2018. As manager of the Reds from 2014 through the beginning of 2018, he led the team to 279 wins and 387 losses.
