Greg Bird, infielder, was drafted by the New York Yankees in 2011. He played in their minor league system from 2011 through 2014.

Bird played in 46 games with the Yankees in 2015. He hit his first two major league home runs in the same game on August 19th. He finished the season with 41 hits, 11 home runs, 31 RBIs, 53 strikeouts to 19 walks, and a .261 batting average. Defensively, as a first baseman in 46 games, he made 24 assists, 33 double plays, 376 putouts, and 1 error.

Bird had shoulder surgery after the 2015 season and he missed the entire 2016 season.

Bird spent most of the 2017 season again on the DL, playing in just 48 games with the Yankees. He batted just .190 during that time. In the postseason, he had 10 hits, including 3 home runs and 2 doubles, and 6 RBIs in 41 at-bats in 13 games. He hit his first postseason home run in the 5th inning of Game 2 of the American League Division series. He won Game 3 of the ALDS for the Yankees with a home run. It was the only run in the game.

Bird was again on the DL in 2018, recovering from right ankle surgery. He played in 82 games and he had 54 hits, 16 doubles, 38 RBIs, and a .199 batting average. Defensively, as a first baseman in 74 games, he made 37 assists, 37 double plays, 503 putouts, and 2 errors. He didn't play in the postseason.

Bird spent most of the 2019 season on the DL, playing in just 10 games with the Yankees.

Bird became a free agent on November 27, 2019. He signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on February 4, 2020. He was granted free agency on August 14th. He signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies on September 15th. He didn't play professional baseball in 2020.

Bird signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies on February 11, 2021. He played only in the minors in 2021.

Bird became a free agent on November 7, 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on March 13, 2022, and he was released on April 4th. He returned to the Yankees on a minor league contract on April 6th. He was released on July 13th.
