Angel Pagan, center fielder, originally signed with the New York Mets. In 2006, the Chicago Cubs bought his contract from the Mets before he ever had the chance to play with New York. He played for two years with the Cubs, but only partial seasons due to injuries. In January, 2008, Pagan was traded back to the Mets. He played in only 31 games that year and finished the season with a .275 batting average.
Pagan played very well for the Mets in 2010, playing in 151 games and ending with a batting average of .290, 168 hits, 31 doubles, and 37 stolen bases. The following season was not as good and in December, 2011, the Mets traded Pagan to the San Francisco Giants. In 2012, Pagan had a strong season, ending with 174 hits, 38 doubles, 15 triples, and 29 stolen bases. The Giants considered Pagan a valuable asset to the team and in December, 2012, they signed him to a four-year, $40 million contract.
In 2013, Pagan missed most of the season with a left hamstring injury and surgery. In 71 games in 2013, he batted .282 with 79 hits. He again suffered from injuries in 2014, spending almost half of the season on the DL. He finished the season with 115 hits, 21 doubles, 16 stolen bases, and a .300 batting average in 96 games. He didn't play in the postseason with the Giants.
Pagan played in 133 games with the Giants in 2015. He finished the season with a .262 batting average, 134 hits, 21 doubles, 15 stolen bases, and 37 RBIs. As a center fielder, he made 258 putouts and 4 errors in 124 games.
Pagan had a good season in 2016, finishing with a .277 batting average. He had 137 hits, 24 doubles, a career high 12 home runs, and 55 RBIs in 129 games. He played well in the postseason, batting .300 with 3 hits, including a double, in 10 at-bats in 3 games. Defensively, as a left fielder in 123 regular season games, he made 218 putouts and 6 errors.
Pagan became a free agent on November 3, 2016. He hasn't played professional baseball since 2016.
